AutoCAD 2012 is a software application known as a Computer Aided Design for architects, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, and all those who use these software as drafting. It is been developed by the Autodesk founded by John Wlaker (source wikipedia/Autocad). A software which you can make 3D drawings or 2D drawings with appropriate dimensions.It is been used widely for building and equipment designs.The difference between autoCAD 2012 to other version is that the dimension of x and y coordinate has been shown in the screen while you move the mouse pointer of your computer while you are using this software application or thus doing your project using autoCAD application. There difference is Sketchup are friendly user, it provide ease in 3D drafting while autoCAD provide accurate dimensions. But this application and program are very helpful to those engineers, architects, and draftsman.

Well the good news is it's very unlikely you won't use some kind of CAD (Computer Aided Design) package. Auto-CAD is a specific program so this may not be the exact program you use but I believe it is the most common. Auto-CAD is a very popular package and is used by architects and engineers alike.
